Night of Sorrows
Gethsemane. Sermon will focus on the humanity of Jesus in asking his father to find another way. He goes back and forth three times begging his friends to pray for him. Jesus needed them. We often look at who needs Jesus but there is a beautiful demonstration here of what Jesus needed at a heart wrenching time in his life. The Father answers Jesus’ question as the disciples’ saw logs. “No, Jesus, there is no other way. Look at them, they can’t ever stay awake much less save themselves.” That is when Jesus said, “It is enough…Rise, let us be going; see my betrayer is at hand.”
