ANNUAL REPORT HEADER

A Letter from pastor Jason

Dear Grace Bible Family,

As I reflect on 2021 and the nearly seven years of ministry here at Grace Bible, Andrea and I, along with our elders and staff, want to thank you for your faithful partnership in the ministry God has given us.

Exciting times are ahead for our church and I look forward to what God has planned for us in 2022 and beyond; but as we move ahead it’s important for us to stop, pause, reflect, and give thanks to God for His faithfulness over this past year.

In this report below, you’ll learn about how your generous and sacrificial giving has been stewarded this past calendar year.  You graciously voted to approve a generous budget for the fiscal year July 1- June 30.  This report will focus on the calendar year of ministry, not the fiscal year.

As you pause and reflect on this year, may you be filled with gratitude!  We are hopeful for 2022 and how God will continue to move us and use us for His glory!

Let’s get after it together!

“There is one body and one Spirit - just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call - one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”

MORE FROM THIS YEAR

Pastor Mario Garcia has been serving here on staff now for 20 years! About three years ago Grace Hispana took an active approach to become a more externally focused church for the blessing of the Hispanic community on the Central Coast.  This year we were part of establishing and launching Immigrant Hope - Five Cities, an EFCA ministry that works to equip and empower undocumented immigrants as they assimilate into this community. We also highlight the five discipleship groups Grace Hispana has launched, reaching people in Ecuador, Mexico, North Carolina, and the Five Cities. Recently, Grace Hispana has had great success reaching out to the farming communities of Santa Maria and Guadalupe. Every Thursday Mario and his team feed 40 families and preach the Gospel through their food distribution in Guadalupe.  Mario has also been preaching the Gospel and developing relationships with field workers in Santa Maria as well. Keep Mario, his family, and the ministry of Grace Hispana in prayer as we look to continue to reach out and go where the Spirit leads.

These past two years have been tough for students but God has shown us new opportunities for ministry. Our staff and our leaders have worked diligently to pursue students, to create stability, and to keep them engaged with God and with one another. We run 12 student small groups every Wednesday night and have 20 high school students serving in Kids ministry on Sundays. We even hired an awesome young leader named Delaney to give leadership to preteens and help lead our high school students. Normalcy has been hard to come by, that’s why we are so grateful we were able to return to in-person summer camp at Hume Lake. We brought 95 high school students, 40 junior high students, 20 5th and 6th graders and 30 adults counselors and support staff. It was an unusual year but we saw God work powerfully in the lives of students across the board. 8 students made life changing decisions to follow Jesus and 3 students and a leader decided to be baptized publicly! Keep praying for our students, keep giving generously and if you feel compelled to jump in and help us, we would love to talk with you.

If you have been around Grace Bible Church then you know we love Kids! Over this past year our Kids ministry assistants, Krista and Michelle, have developed a program that is second to none for our kids to experience the goodness of God. We have a committed group of adults that serve our kids each week. We have fun games and crafts, relevant, Christ centered lessons and awesome group times for our kids. We celebrate the 67 new families that joined the ministry this year; and we are blown away that over 100 kids each week are coming to church and having a great time. This year in Kids ministry we were able to baptize six kids and dedicate six more as well. If you love kids we would love to have you join our team!

YOUR INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE

Generosity is directly connected to deeper discipleship.  Barna Research states that “Christians who are intentional with giving goals that are a part of their discipleship journey are more financially generous than those who view finances as something they own and govern themselves”.  Church is not something that you watch but something you participate in, and a significant way to participate is through financial giving.  Many of you have faithfully provided year-end gifts to continue the ministry.

We ended 2020 financially strong because of your generous support of 320k.  This year it is our desire to finish strong again and are aiming for a 400k December. Would you prayerfully consider a year-end gift?

We encourage you to take a step in your discipleship.  Give for the first time. Set up consistent giving. Get on a team. Meet with a staff member to figure out which team to serve.  God has uniquely gifted and designed you to serve.   Kids, Students, Productions, Hospitality, Groups, Facilities.  You matter to God; find a team to serve on today.

LOOKING AHEAD

THE WORLD NEEDS YOU...

Many things in our world have the potential to divide us today but Jesus prayed that His followers would not be a divided people but would instead be one.  To be a united people truly is a work only God can do.  Each of us is unique and we bring our diverse experiences, likes, dislikes, convictions, and upbringings to the community... And God’s heart is that we would honor him by treating each other well amidst all our differences.

As a diverse people we are united only by the work of Christ. We are committed to a shared purpose that God is inviting us to align our hearts with His for the people of the Five Cities and beyond. We want to lean into the heart of Christ, together, for the sake of the Gospel. With all this in mind, our staff is eagerly committed to maintaining the unity of the Spirit with….

Gentleness -  this is the heart of Christ

We are committed to creating peaceful environments for you, your family, and this community.  We believe in Jesus, who used His power to serve, not to be served.  His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

Humility - this is how Christ leads

We are committed to learning and listening.  Humility is not a lack of ambition but a zeal to serve and love others as ourselves.

Patience - this is the grit of Christ

We are committed to walking the long road of discipleship.  Faithfulness is more important than influence or success.
